Role Overview

Navi is searching for a dedicated UI Engineer - 1 who possesses robust foundational web development skills and an eagerness to construct dependable customer-facing applications. Ideal for early-career developers, this role centers on solving product challenges, writing clean frontend code, and collaborating closely with design and engineering teams to ship seamless user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze product specifications to build performant, seamless user-facing web applications. Develop clean and responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React. Convert complex functional requirements into maintainable and well-structured frontend features. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve client-side bugs through systematic code execution analysis. Implement foundational security practices and author unit tests covering critical paths and error scenarios. Partner with cross-functional team members, including product managers and UI designers, to deliver high-quality digital experiences.

Qualifications & Requirements

Between 0 to 2 years of frontend development experience gained through employment, internships, or personal projects. Strong core understanding of JavaScript concepts such as event loops, closures, scope, async functions, and prototypes. Practical working familiarity with component-based frameworks like React. Grasps fundamental UI architectural concepts including state management, props, and rendering cycles. Basic awareness of frontend web performance tuning and test-driven development methodologies. A clear communication style when articulating technical logic and problem-solving approaches.

Must-Have Non-Negotiables

• Strong core JavaScript knowledge • Hands-on experience with React or equivalent frameworks • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and client-side web development • Familiarity with browser DevTools and debugging workflows • Fundamental understanding of component state and data flow

Nice-to-Have Skills & Bonus Qualifications

• Exposure to web security fundamentals and automated testing • Understanding of web performance metrics and optimization • Experience building responsive designs from scratch
