Role Overview

As a Security Engineer I on Navi's Product Security team, you will proactively protect digital products by discovering vulnerabilities and building security tools. The role focuses heavily on performing security audits, penetration testing, and code analysis across web, API, and mobile applications. You will write automated testing scripts to streamline routine operational tasks and collaborate directly with software development teams to implement fixes.

Key Responsibilities

Execute dynamic vulnerability assessments and ethical hacking procedures across web applications, REST/GraphQL interfaces, and mobile platforms. Develop custom automation scripts and utility tools in languages like Python or Go to streamline log analysis and security scans. Filter out false positives by manually testing and validating security warnings generated by SAST and DAST tooling. Partner with core software development units to communicate security flaw impacts and supply actionable OWASP-aligned resolution guidance. Configure, maintain, and tune dynamic security scanners inside continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Document detailed penetration testing summaries outlining proof-of-concept exploits, risk evaluations, and remediation recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Up to 2 years of hands-on background in security engineering, penetration testing, or software development (including internships or bug bounty exposure). Practical knowledge of OWASP Top 10 vectors and practical experience manually exploiting web and mobile vulnerabilities. Strong coding ability using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automated testing and API data handling. Familiarity with essential penetration testing tools including Burp Suite, Postman, Nmap, MobSF, or OWASP ZAP. Solid understanding of core web networking concepts (HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS) alongside mobile application packages.

Must-Have Non-Negotiables

• VAPT for Web and Mobile • Scripting in Python, Go, or Bash • OWASP Top 10 Exploitation • Burp Suite and Postman experience • Understanding of API Architecture
